Party with a view: Elliott Bay Marina hosts event on observation deck

Elliott Bay Marina’s observation deck was the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful summer evening.

Decks with water views are highly coveted in Seattle, like any waterfront city, and Elliott Bay Marina has one of the best.

The marina’s observation deck, perched above its breakwater, offers panoramic views of the city skyline, surrounding islands and majestic Mount Rainier. Last Friday, dozens of boaters and guests soaked in the sights from the platform at the marina’s first dinghy dock party.

Three Sheets Northwest co-founder Marty McOmber, left, and a marina employee talk with guests.

Some arrived via their own dinghies, while others were shuttled back and forth from the fuel dock on the marina’s electric boat, “Dougie,” named after beloved late harbormaster Doug Hicks, who died of cancer in 2015.
