Port of Friday Harbor set to host 1st Annual Pirate Festival … Arrrr!

Join the Port of Friday Harbor for the Port’s first annual Pirate Festival, June 23rd-25th — an entire weekend of fun and excitement on the water.

The historic Tall Ships Lady Washington and her sister ship Hawaiian Chieftain will be dockside for tours, plus they will offer day sails for a fee. The two mighty ships will also perform mock sea battles in the harbor.

On Friday there will be dinghy races, a potluck on the breakwater, pirate storytelling and music.

Saturday will have ships tours, a cannon battle in the harbor, marina wide treasure hunt, pirate costume contest, and pier dance that night. Sunday will have a pancake breakfast before everyone sets sail (see full schedule below).

Prizes can be won for best pirate costume and treasure hunt. The festival is FREE, except tours and rides on the Tall Ships.

PIRATE FESTIVAL SCHEDULE

Friday, June 23:

• 12:00-5:00pm  dockside vessel tours of the Tall Ships
• Beginning at 1:00pm pick up Treasure Hunt maps at Main Station, below the Port Offices
• 3:00-4:30pm Paddle Board races! Equipment and Safety gear provided by Friday Harbor Kayaks on E-Walkway
• 5:00pm Potluck on the Breakwater with LIVE music from the band Opa
• 6:00-8:00pm Evening sail aboard the Tall Ships
• 7:00pm Pirate story telling on the Breakwater

Saturday, June 24:

• ALL DAY Treasure Hunt
• 11:00am-3:00pm Knot tying, face painting, kid games + much more! Stop by the Waterfront Park.
• 11:00am-4:00pm dockside vessel tours of the Tall Ships
• 5:00-8:00pm Battle sail between the Tall Ships
• 6:00-8:00pm LIVE music on the Main pier

Sunday, June 25:

• 10:00am-12:00pm Pancake Breakfast ($10 per person) + Prizes for best pirate costume & Treasure Hunt winners will be awarded at the San Juan Island Yacht Club
• 10:00am-1:00pm  dockside vessel tours of the Tall Ships
• 11:00am-1:00pm  adventure sail aboard the Tall Ships
• 2:00-5:00pm final battle sail between the Tall Ships
